About MBE Josephine Chan And Greenwich Chinese Community School
In 1 January 2004, Principle Josephine Chan was honoured with a MBE
(Member of the Order of British Empire) by the Queen.
As a reward for her excellent contribution to the British public,
the Chinese community and education business.
In July 2003, Greenwich Chinese Community School and it's branches received
"
The Queen's Golden Jubilee Award". As a reward for the excellent contribution
of Josephine Chan MBE and 53 volunteers at the schools.
The Greenwich Chinese Community School was established by MBE Josephine Chan in 1981.
There was only 5 students and one teacher and a principle (All by Josephine Chan MBE herself).
Today, there are 3 branches, 53 teachers and over 600 students. And they are all voluntary.
In June 2004, The Greenwich Chinese Community School was invited to join the
"
Olympic Torch Relay Event" at Greenwich London (SE10).
They provided program with rich Chinese national identity.
2000 to 2002, MBE Josephine Chan and number of experienced education material producers
from Beijing, produced 2 sets total 36 volumes Chinese teaching material.
They range from suitable for young child to fifth grade examination level.
They are being use by the British and European Chinese education organizations.
And it helps to expand the Chinese education business to nation and Europe wide.
MBE Josephine Chan graduated from Hong Kong Chinese University in the 70s.
Immigrated to Great Britain in 1975.
She further herself at the South East London Teacher College in the 80s.
She has been working at the local school and spend her weekends at the Chinese School.
She has undisputed experience in education business.
And she is devoted to the Oversea Hope Project.
MBE Josephine Chan is also member of various local public services.
Such as the British Local Education Authority School board of director.
Member of the Equal Opportunities comity.
Member of Local Education Authority representing the minority group.
She is a winner of the 10 Most Successful Female in South East London in 2000.
She also received the The Best of the Oversea Chinese Education partitioner
from the Chinese central government.
Principle MBE Josephine Chan is an enthusiastic person.
Devoted to her resident country.
At ease with different people from variety of background.
And she is patriotic and deeply in love with her home country.
